SEAN DeARMENT NATURE TRAIL &
THORN HILL TRAIL

The Sean DeArment Nature Trail is dedicated to the memory of Sean DeArment - a boy who loved the outdoors. The trail was first suggested by his family as a way of celebrating his life in a way that would reflect the joy he brought to those who knew him. Friends, neighbors, boy scouts, schoolmates, and even strangers contributed a great deal of time, money, and effort to make the trail into what it is today - an admirable exhibit of Western Pennsylvania's natural beauty.

The Thorn Hill Trail begins on Knob Road directly opposite the Whitey Soergel Field entrance of Knob Hill Park. Its crushed limestone surface is suitable for walking, biking, or cross country skiing. The trail is approximately 2.0 miles in length. It meanders through wooded acres into the Thorn Hill Industrial Park to Woodland Road. Completion of these segments will add approximately 1/2 mile to the existing trail.
